Standing Orders
The following standing orders apply to ALL GS Aviation (Europe) Ltd students and visitors who fly into and out of CLENCH COMMON AIRFIELD and must be adhered to at all times.
- All students and pilots must become club members before flying (£40 student, £80 full)
- A landing fee of £3 will be charged to ALL non-members.
- All pilots must hold current 3rd party liability insurance, BMAA membership and the correct documentation as per CAP 85 section 2.25.
- All visiting flights by prior permission only. Hours of operation are 08:00 to 20:00 Monday to Saturday and 10:00 to 19:00 on Sunday. NO flying outside these hours.
- All take-offs and landings to be recorded in the airfield log.
- All pilots must make themselves familiar with the circuit and joining requirements, local restrictions and emergency landing areas. Joining aircraft fly overhead the airfield at 1500ft agl and no less and check the signal square. Descend deadside the airfield turning in the direction of the circuit and join the circuit at the start of the downwind leg. Circuit height 500ft agl. Frequency 135.475 Safetycom
- All flying to be in accordance with UK VFR, The ANO and within the privileges of the pilots' licence.
- No flying over noise sensitive areas, see airfield map - that means any houses/farms in the area.
- All aircraft must be refuelled using a drip tray. Any flagrant breach of this rule will be subject to an on the spot fine of £20. Fuel burns on the grass last 2 years! All fuel must be stored in the designated area.
- Aircraft engines shall only be started at a safe distance from people, property other aircraft and animals.
- All pilots remain fully responsible for their aircraft at all times, including the safe operation of the aircraft and for any damage that may be caused by them or their aircraft. The landlords, tenants or operators of the airfield shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage howsoever caused.
- All reportable accidents or incidents shall be reported to an instructor or officer of the day.

How to find us by Road
Sat Nav SN8 4NZ will get you to the concrete road to the airfield. Just keep on going down it for nearly 0.5 mile till you see the hanger and planes on the left.
From Hungerford
Take the A4 west out of Hungerford signposted Marlborough.
In Marlborough at mini-roundabout turn left onto the A346 then immediately at next mini-roundabout turn right onto George Lane - B3052 signposted Amesbury A345, Pewsey.
At mini-roundabout turn left onto the A345 sign posted Pewsey. Leave Marlborough climbing uphill.
After 2.2 miles, turn left sign posted Wooton Rivers and Clench (single track road).
After 0.75 mile turn left into Culleys farm (single track concrete road).
Keep following single track concrete road, GS Aviation is on the left.
From M4
Exit M4 Junction 15
Take the A346 Signposted Marlborough.
In Marlborough follow the signs for the A345 Pewsey.
After 2.2 miles, turn left signposted Wooton Rivers and Clench (single track road).
After .75 mile turn left into Culleys farm (single track concrete road).
Keep following single track concrete road, GS Aviation is on the left.
From Pewsey
Take the A345 towards Marlborough.
Through Oare and then uphill.
At a double bend turn very sharp right signposted Wooton Rivers and Clench (single track road).
After 0.75 mile turn left into Culleys farm (single track concrete road).
Keep following single track concrete road, GS Aviation is on the left.
From Calne
Take the A4 signposted Marlborough.
In Marlborough follow the signs for the A345 Pewsey.
After leaving Marlborough then 2.2 miles, turn left signposted Wooton Rivers and Clench (single track road).
After 0.75 mile turn left into Culleys farm (single track concrete road).
Keep following single track concrete road, GS Aviation is on the left.
